AhMo Western Food

AhMo Western Food, simple , healthy and delicious.

Story of AhMo :

AHMO is an epithet describing Westerner or the West in Chinese Hokkien dialect.
It literally means red hair and the usage is similar to the Japanese word K?m? or Cantonese term Gweilo.
In general, local Hokkien people often used the term Ang Mo to distinguish whatever originates from the West.
Some examples are Ang Mo Lang (Westerner), Ang Mo Mia (Western name),
Ang Mo Kio (Red Tomato) and Ang Mo Chiak (Western Cuisine).
The origin of the term Ang Mo could be traced from the contact between Hokkien people in Southern Fujian
province of China with the Portuguese and the Dutch during the 16th and 17th century.
This is most likely because red hair is a common trait among the Westerners.
With the large migration of Hokkien people to South-East Asia,
predominantly Malaysia and Singapore, the term Ang Mo became more widespread.
Nowadays, it is still a common term among the local Hokkien
but it is no longer a racial slur as it might imposed to some yesteryears.

AHMO is interpreting 40 years dream of an International Hotel Chef diligently in Western Cuisine.

[ ExtraTopic - DSLR Cleaning Kit ]

DSLR isn't a cheap device, even lenses costs at least 100dollars ( unless 2nd hand ) , therefore, serious care is essential to maintain it in order to get a highest performance from it!

Cleaning Kit for DSLR is easy to find , and it's quite cheap and satisfaction guaranteed.

1. Blower - Anti Dust

This grenade shape blower will blow those dust at lens and also sensor that make you frustrated

2. Brush - Anti particles

Sweep ... sweep ... sweep, no more dirt between the gap of your SLR, especially the gap at filter.

3. MicroFibre Cloth - Anti Stain

Swipe it lightly at your len's surface, and see the magic!

4.  Carbon Compound Tip - Anti Tough Stain

Tough stain? Ain't a problem to em'

I personally think the cleaning liquid solution that need to use cotton bud to dip it is not a necessary tool, cleaning equipment above is more than enough.

Kayu Nasi Kandar

Can't find a nice place for supper? Go Origial Kayu Nasi Kandar, satisfaction is guaranteed. But, the most suitable foods for supper is Roti Planta ( pronounce as  row - ti  plant - ta ) and Roti Tisu ( pronounce as row - ti    tissue ) .

Roti Planta is a kind of bread, very thin, crunchy, sweet and covered with margarine, which comes with a bowl of curry gravy.

Roti Tisu is something like Roti Planta, but it's more thin and bigger in size. It's covered with large amount of condensed milk.

Teh-Tarik ( tea ) is quite popular too.

One of my favourite restaurant, the Chin Yuen Restaurant in Sg. Ara, is one of the best you can get in Penang. Almost everyday full house, but the quality of the food never change and the people here are extremely friendly, service is good.

There are a few food which I highly recommend.

4. 3-Taste Eggplant

4. Salted Fish Pork
